The Bar-Ilan team partnered with the EU on an initiative to pilot antimicrobial textiles in hospitals to significantly decrease hospital-acquired infections through innovative textiles. The overwhelming success of the pilot led to Sonovia’s foundation.

Due to its ground-breaking eco-friendly textile solution, Sonovia has won a $20M grant from the prestigious “Horizon 2020”, The European Union’s research and innovation program, under grant agreement No 874050.

Sonovia Now Trading on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange

 Sonovia has completed its initial public offering (IPO), having successfully raised NIS 35 million in addition to previously raising NIS 12 million through a private placement. Sonovia is now trading under the TA – Technology and TA Tech – Elite indexes on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (Symbol: SONO).

 

Sonovia wins Start-Up Competition Alongside 9 Other Israeli Companies

The competition was initiated by the 2020 Genesis Prize Laureate, Natan Sharansky with the support of the Genesis Prize Foundation (GPF) and Start-Up Nation Central (SNC) to recognize Israeli companies that have made significant contributions to global health and the fight against COVID-19 and future pandemics as well as companies that have developed promising innovations and technologies with significant benefits that are to become available in the foreseeable future.
